Hi, I am Andrea

a visual designer working mainly for the outdoor industry.
I fill the design gaps that companies, brands, federations, teams, and athletes are facing to better connect with their communities and customers.
Since 2002 I worked and collaborated with in-house teams, agencies, and corporate companies of various natures and purposes. During 2013 I moved from Italy to the UK and I decided to work mainly for the outdoor & action sports industries.

As a former professional mountain biker, I combine my main passion in life with my knowledge and hands-on experience with design. Knowing the players, patterns, parallels, and trends of what works in a certain sports niche have always given to me the advantage to reach more effective solutions.

Currently, I am working as a senior designer for the Madison Cycles marketing team with core responsibilities around advertising, branding, and B2C/B2B visual design production. I work across a broad range of brands including Shimano, Garmin, Continental, Park Tool, DT Swiss, Kryptonite, Ogio, Thor, and Maxxis to name a few.

I work as well as a Freelancer, taking on selected projects and helping clients to uncover their design needs first, and then work on the best solution possible. My ultimate goal is to fill the design gaps companies, brands, federations, teams, and athletes are facing to better connect with their communities and customers.

So far I have been involved with projects from international well-established clients like Vittoria Shoes, Multipower and Beta Racing, forward-thinking start-up like Carbon Jewelry and Yacht Design International, long-running sports organizations like the Bike Trial International Union, and world athletes like 100% Brumotti.

When I am not working, drawing or learning something new, you will possibly find me riding bikes, snowboarding, hiking, taking pictures, going to gigs or playing drums.

THE PROCESS

defining the creative formula for my client work
STEP 1

Request

A first FREE call is held to understand the scope of the project and if there is the need for a deeper investigation for it.

STEP 2

Discovery Session

I do run a series of exercise with the client to uncover the business needs behind the project and then define the brand and the customers/user needs in relation to the project we are about to take on.

STEP 3

Idea Translation

Together with the client, we will need to prioritize and organize all the answers in order to translate them accordingly into images, illustrations, patterns, colours, and styles.

STEP 4

Agreement

The visuals will be presented to the client to confirm and reflect the client perceptions of the project. There will be a choice of art direction to make and agree on.

STEP 5

Draft Time

Based on our agreements I will start to sketch out and mockup the project. Options will be presented to the client for final confirmation on the look and feel.

STEP 6

Production

After approval on one of the options presented, I will produce a refined artwork to purposely serve the needs of my client.
