The story so far...

Since 2002 I worked and collaborated with in-house teams, agencies, and corporate companies of different natures and purposes. During 2013 I moved from Italy to the UK, and I decided to work mainly for the outdoor and action sports industries.

As a former professional mountain biker, it was just the right time for me to combine my main passion in life with my knowledge and hands-on experience with design. Knowing the players, patterns, parallels, and trends of what works in a specific sports niche has been a real benefit in helping me build better solutions so far.

Currently, I am working as a senior designer for the Madison Cycles marketing team with core responsibilities around advertising, branding, and B2C/B2B visual design production. I work across a broad range of brands, including Shimano, Garmin, Continental, Park Tool, DT Swiss, Kryptonite, Ogio, Thor, and Maxxis, to name a few.

I also work as a Freelancer, taking on selected projects and helping clients to uncover their design needs first, and then working on the best solution possible. My ultimate goal is to help companies, brands, federations, teams, and athletes to establish a visual connection with their communities, grow and get happier customers.

So far I have been involved with projects from international well-established clients like Vittoria Shoes, Multipower and Beta Racing, forward-thinking start-ups like Carbon Jewelry and Yacht Design International, long-running sports organizations like the Bike Trial International Union, and world athletes like 100% Brumotti.

When I am not working, drawing or learning something new, you might find me training with my bikes, snowboarding, hiking, taking pictures, going to gigs or playing drums.

Brief

I engage in an initial conversation to gather generic information like the scope of the project, which business problems it’s meant to solve, what is the timeline attached to it.

Discovery Session

I run a meeting with the project stakeholders to understand how the brand operates and who are the related customers. By facilitating the prioritization of tasks and goals will be easier to understand what should be tackled first.

Idea Translation

I start to translate all the info generated in the previous steps into images, illustrations, patterns and colors, creating style guides to be used as a reference for the art direction to follow during the design process.

Agreement

The style guides are presented to the project stakeholders to get in alignment with the previously defined perception of the project from the business point of view. At this point there will be a choice of art direction to make and agree on.

Production

Based on the art direction chosen, I start to effectively build the project using production stages as check points. Once all the milestones are reached, the work is finalized and presented for final approval.

Refinement and Delivery

All materials are refined and packaged depending on the project requirements for the final delivery.
